Dear ASM Members,

On behalf of the SA/NT Branch Committee and the Parasitology and Tropical Medicine SIG we have great pleasure in inviting you to attend the ASM 2017 Tri-State Scientific Meeting and Parasitology Masterclass. These meetings are being held back to back in Darwin NT from 22nd  to 25th September 2017.

The delegates invitation and information, including a preliminary program,  and booking information is now available. Please refer to the following link on the ASM Website (

Tri-State meetings have been initiated and supported by SA, WA and NT ASM branches for over 25 years. It aims to bring together delegates to Australia’s top end, and meet in relax atmosphere in a unique and intimate environment.

This will be the 6th  Parasitology Masterclass held since its inaugural meeting in Tasmania in 2009. Over the years these have been extremely popular and successful providing an excellent blend of practical workshops, classroom teaching and formal presentations.

An engaging scientific program is being put together for both meetings and presented by some of Australia’s top microbiologists. Within the Tri-State program we are also excited and pleased to be able to include renowned international speaker, Professor Harvey Rubin from the University of Pennsylvania to talk on his involvement in Mycobacteria and the Energise the Chain Program.

A great social program has been also organised for delegates to engage and network including a dinner cruise on the beautiful Darwin harbour (available for delegates attending  either or both meetings)

We hope you will be able to come along  and join us for two very exciting and interesting meetings and enjoy all that Darwin has to offer.

Kind Regards

ASM 2017 Tri-State and Parasitology Masterclass Organising Committee
