Dr Anna Maria Costa
Anna-Maria is the current Convenor of the Australian Society for Microbiology Women’s and Children’s Special Interest Group. Anna-Maria is a senior medical scientist in the Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Molecular Microbiology Laboratory at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. She works closely with the Regional HPV Labnet Reference Laboratory at the Centre for Women’s Infectious Diseases at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne to develop the HPV QAP. Her other interests include the use of probiotics for preterm infants, and sexually transmitted infections and their resistance to antimicrobials.
