ASM USA TEACHERS’ TRAVEL AWARD
The aim of this award is to enable attendance at the American Society of Microbiology Conference for Undergraduate Educators, known as ASMCUE.
The recipient receives a certificate given at the ASM’s National Scientific Meeting’s award ceremony, up to $3,000 in travel expenses to attend the ASMCUE and full conference registration to ASMCUE.
The recipient is expected to present a poster or oral presentation at ASMCUE.
+ Eligibility Requirements
- be a member of the ASM of two (2) years standing at the time of application
- Members who have previously been awarded are not eleigible to apply within five years
+ Application Requirements
Applications must include:
- a curriculum vitae
- a letter of recommendation from the applicants Head of the Department confirming involvement in and commitment to a teaching program
- the names and addresses (including email addresses) of two (2) referees
- a brief synopsis of the applicants area of interest in education
+ Conditions of Award
- Condition of the award is the Applicant must have already submitted work for possible inclusion in the program OR be in the process of doing so.
Oral presentations, posters or contributions to Microbrews are acceptable forms of work for the purpose of the award.
+ Award Review Committee
The award will be determined by the Executive Committee.
